Adding dyes to a lake or pond reduces sunlight penetration and thus reduces the amount of sunlight that hits bottom sludge inhibiting the growth of aquatic plants, weeds and algae. Also to be used for strictly aesthetic purposes when brown or cloudy waters become a problem and by using dyes you are able to rapidly transform the color of your lake or pond to a dark blue or more decorative shade.
