The YSI 550A-12CC instrument is a dissolved oxygen (DO) and temperature meter for measuring DO in fresh, sea, or polluted water in the field, with a 12’ cable-probe assembly and a backlit LCD to enable reading in dark or dimly lit areas. This microprocessor-based, digital meter has automatic temperature compensation for DO, automatic salinity compensation (0 to 70ppt) for DO, and altitude compensation for calibration. The weighted, quick-sinking polarographic probe has a field-replaceable electrode module and screw-on cap membrane. It runs on 4 alkaline C-cell batteries (included), has a waterproof case with Ingress Protection 67 (IP67), and has European Conformity (CE) certification. DO meters are commonly used in water-quality testing applications.

Dissolved oxygen (DO) meters measure the amount of dissolved oxygen present in water.
